{waiting}

a little over a week ago ava had some routine blood tests and the doctors found her white blood cell count was extremely high.

for those of you new here…  ava is the daughter of a dear friend.  ava has leukemia and she is 9 months into the 2 year treatment plan and she has been responding so beautifully to treatment, she is in good spirits and she looks so well – her hair is even growing back!!!  so you can imagine our surprise when the doctors suggested her cancer may be back…  it was devastating news and then to be told we would not know more till they ran more tests the following week.  it was almost too much to bare!

it was a week of waiting.  a week of thinking the worst but hoping and praying for the best.  a week of tears.  a really difficult week for everyone who loves this little princess.

kelly, her mumma spent the weekend here with us.  i kept reassuring her that ava would be ok…  i just knew in my heart she would be but it doesnt stop the worry and all sorts of senarios going through your head!  i am so excited to say that yesterday they ran more blood tests and all is well!  it seems like she may have had a viral infection or something as the doctors said her white blood cell count is better and we couldnt be happier!  kelly is so thankful for all the support and good wishes from friends here and at flickr over the last month…  thanks to all of you!
