ive always loved melbourne… its such a beautiful city, full or life and so much culture! danny was going for work and i decided to go too.
danny and i got to see dear new zealand friends. i shopped of course and we ate lots of yummy food. the best bit… i met jamie and ash for the first time! how much did i love meeting these super sweet girls?
kristen and i have been online friends for a while so i have heard so much about the girls and seen many photos! we spent the weeks leading up to the shoot talking about locations, clothing and props… we decided we would head to st kilda pier cause its super cute and besides the pier, there is the beach and a little wooden boardwalk and some grassy knolls.
the girls were counting down sleeps and we were all looking forward to it but on the day, things went a little pear shaped when melbourne decided to dish out the coldest weather in something like 30 years… it was beyond freezing! we did our best to make it work so we found little places we could huddle, sheltered from the wind (note: very small space surrounded by bushes)!
the girls were such little troopers… they really were… even though their lips had gone a pale shade of blue and i could hear their little teeth chattering they didnt complain… look at their little happy smiling faces!
at one point it rained and we took shelter in the car. i squished in the backseat with the girls, eating sweets, tickling them and listening to them giggle… even though the shoot didnt turn out as planned, i really loved meeting your family kristen and getting to know them just a little. hope you love the photos!

p.s. kristen takes beautiful photos herself. she lives and works in melbourne so be sure to check out her website!
p.s.s. my favourite photo is the one where both the girls are holding kirstens hands so tightly… i dont know if its just me or if all mums feel the same, but i just love it when audrey holds my hand (which is pretty much anytime we are out) and i have often said to her… ‘ill be sad when you dont want to hold my hand anymore’. she squeezes my hand tightly and says… ’dont worry mumma, ill always want to hold your hand’. i feel so happy for a moment but know pretty soon she will be too big for holding hands with her mumma and then i feel just a little sad!
