oh boy… another late 10 on 10 post! i shot it saturday but with so much client work to get through i just havent had a minute to download them and choose some favourties to edit and share! im not so good at following rules so for now, im just happy to have taken the time to photograph us…

i must confess it was a fairly boring kind of day… cold and rainy outside and no exciting adventures planned but thats the whole point isnt it? just little moments in our everyday real lives…

8.15am ~ weekend morning tv {she loves jessie, austin + ali, ant farm and icarly}

9.02am ~ making banana pancakes

10.45am ~ hot chocolate and banana bread for me… fresh juice for audrey lu!

dress ~ polka | felt flower hair clip ~ pinwheels and pearls

3.08pm ~ a little break from packing at a park where we found the most amazing tree house!

audrey took a couple of photos of me with my 3 annies camera bag for nanna!

4.10pm ~ book madness! i think i might be addicted to purchasing books for lulu…

cleaning up my computer i stumbled across this session from my melbourne trip in april.

these guys were honestly the most fun ever… so much spirit and love in their photos!

i planned to blog it forever ago but we all know im a terrible blogger…

my last few trips to sydney have been all rained out…  i imagine its the worst summer they have ever had or i just have terrible timing!

this shoot was cut short because the dark clouds eventually did open up and the rain poured down but i love what i did capture in our brief time together!  i really love the light on overcast days…  its so soft and pretty!

i love everything about shooting fashion stories for magazines…  coming up with a concept, choosing the location and the talent, all the super cute outfits…  mostly i love the collaboration between myself and other creatives and seeing it all come together, the final product…

meet the melhelm family – tony, avril, sage and indigo.

we met one morning recently in their sydney home.  we were blessed with sunshine and giggles for the shoot…  indigo and sage are the sweetest little girls ever!

what a busy day tony and avril had planned… a family photo shoot complete with a tea party in the garden followed by the opening of a cafe!  tony and avril are the founders of Coco Cubano cafes in darlinghurst, kings cross and a third one recently opened in parramatta!  needless to say… their girls are pretty experienced tea party hosts and guests!

it was so fun to collaborate with the lovely jodi from itch designs!  we talked over a concept and chose a location that would work with our ideas.  i took photos of some super gorgeous models and jodi did all the amazing illustrations.

on the day of the shoot it was bucketing down and things didnt go as planned…  we didnt get to use any of the locations we had chosen and even ended up shooting some of the images in an underground carpark!

all problems aside – i just loved how it turned out…  loads of cool clothes from itch designs, munster, sudo, minti, rookie and mine!

i took audrey to the beach one afternoon in december so she could try one out.  she spent forever twirling and whirling till she was giddy…  she just loved her ribbon wand and what little girl wouldnt?  i just love how in the moment she is and how the images are so dreamy and soft…  it was like i wasnt even there!

hope you all had a lovely christmas and a super fun new year!

sorry i havent been around much lately…  the last few months of the year is always my busiest time with loads of client sessions to shoot, galleries to get online and orders to prepare just in time for christmas.  ive photographed some wonderful families and ive so many pretty pictures to share but life has got in the way!  its been crazier than usual and i bet your wondering whats been happening so ill do a quick recap and ill try not to leave anything out…

my wisdom teeth finally had to come out.  i have major anxiety about visiting the dentist just to have my teeth cleaned so you can imagine my feelings about that!  to make it even more annoying i spent a week in bed suffering worse than i had imagined i would.  then there was the time i threw myself down the stairs…  a few weeks after the wisdom teeth i had a severe allergic reaction to a pain killer which resulted in me passing out at the top of the stairs in our house, waking up at the bottom surrounded by blood with no idea how i got there… anyway, 5 stitches in my scalp (THAT WAS PAINFUL!), a concussion and a very bruised and grazed torso meant more than a week in bed again but i guess cartwheeling down 15 stairs is bound to have some consequences!

well i think thats enough drama for one blog post so let me just say this - 2010 was a pretty awesome year for me, even with a few unexpected hiccups along the way!  i am so thankful for a beautiful family, friends that make my heart sing and the most wonderful clients ever…  my life right now is more amazing than i ever imagined it would be…  thanks to all of you.

im excited about getting back to work tomorrow and im looking forward to the next few months with so much cool stuff ahead but more about that later!  im going to try my hardest to be a better blogger in 2011 so keep checking back often, although im not promising anything cause who knows what will happen tomorrow!

the day i took photos of the twins, we sent evie off to the park to alleviate the inevitable boredom that comes from waiting around while your mum and the photographer try and settle the newborn babies…  not to mention how difficult it is to be the older sibling who must be as quiet as possible while we do that!

so because i didnt get to take any photos of evie the first time around, we decided we would have our own special shoot for such a grown up girl complete with a pretty pink pettiskirt, a trip to the park and the beautiful sunshine!

you can see in these last two candid photos just how much she loves little miss sophia…  that one with her eyes shut is my absolute favourite cause the expression is so magical!  evie is so deep in thought and almost breathing her in…  just gorgeous!  rowe x
