{coco + ginger ~ folksong collection}

Sharing photos from a little collaboration between myself and two Bali girls I adore, Lindy and Saffron. Recently we spent an afternoon together, hanging out with our kiddos! Lindy dressed the girls in Saffron’s beautiful creations {AKA:  Coco + Ginger} and then they were photographed by me. Needless to say, our three girls have been in more than a few photo shoots between them so they were an absolute dream to work with! Looking at the photos, I can’t help thinking it was kind of special having two generations of women working together to create images showing girls as the strong and beautiful beings they are!

{exploring ~ gili trawangan ~ bali}

I haven’t written a post for the longest time! I really have no idea why? Logging in just now I see I have more than a few drafts sitting there almost ready to post, just needing another photo or two added. Maybe a little text, like this one about our trip to Gili Trawangan in March 2015. I guess life just got in the way and blogging is such a strange thing really. You hit publish and have no idea if anyone is truly interested in seeing life through your eyes but I am keen to share again regardless, so I really hope this is the first post of many!

Gili Trawangan… AKA: Gili T. A small island off the east coast of Bali. There are three islands in Gili and this one has a reputation for being a party island but if you avoid the crowds, it offers peaceful places to just be.

You get around the island by bicycle or horse-drawn cart. No cars. No scooters. There are lush green palms overhead, the beaches are covered in the prettiest coral and the sunsets are like a dream! We stayed in a sweet wooden bungalow {Gili Eco Villas}, complete with a hammock on the deck. We would wake up each morning and swim and then eat, lay in the sunshine, then swim a little more, then eat. Maybe play a card game, read a book or go exploring. Wake up the next day and repeat all over again. It was only three days but it was just enough… We left feeling nourished with happy hearts. Until next time friends xxx

{Dusk in Munduk // Bali}

At the beginning of the school holidays I thought 2 months seemed like an awfully long time to entertain Audrey, especially with so many of our friends leaving Bali and Danny being away for a huge chunk of the holidays for work… Im sad to say it actually went so fast but we had the most wonderful time filled with adventures to new places, endless laughter, sunshine, swimming and too much yummy food! The best part was we had family and friends visit so there was so little time for feeling lonely or bored.

My friend, Deb, visited us in Bali in 2013 and we visited her in Japan last October. Those visits were short and sweet but we had 3 whole weeks together this time and we are already dreaming of more time together exploring in the coming months! Watching the girls friendship blossom over those weeks, I couldn’t help but feel so lucky to have such sweet friends in our lives!

Here are a just few images taken of Audrey and Skyler one afternoon a couple of weeks ago on an adventure in Munduk. Two friends, chatting, exploring and dancing {they couldn’t resist twirling their new coco + ginger dresses}. I will never get tired of the rice fields here… They are incredibly beautiful!

This month we missed out on sharing our 10 on 10 posts {the beauty of a busy summer} but we decided t0 link to one another anyway because we LOVE our little group! That means its time to stop by Sara Garcia’s blog, see what she has been up to! Rowe x
