“like a summer rose needs the sun and rain, i need your sweet love” white stripes

just wanted to stop in and say may your day be filled with love and light!

when i was shopping with lulu today and bought paper covered in hearts, she asked, what is the paper for? i said it was for valentines day. she asked, what is valentines again? i explained that you give the person you love a special little gift. ok ok… i do see now how confussing that statement must be to a 6 year old who thinks the person you love the most, is obviously her! so she said, “oh goodie! what are you going to get me?”. im sure her reply comes as no surprise to most of you because i said totally the wrong thing but im really tired and clearly not thinking straight!

anyway, thankfully i got danny the wii mario driving game (no idea what its called?). he has wanted it forever so we can all enjoy that and hopefully audrey wont be too cross at me!

what do you have planned? i am going to have sometime away from my computer which is really exciting and rare! we are going to ride our bikes to breakfast at a new cafe we havent been to thats supposed to be delicous, audrey and i will bake yummy cupcakes for danny and then we will all spend a little time bathing in the sunshine by the pool.

p.s. i made this card for danny so i thought id share it with you. i had hoped to do a valentine day themed shoot this last week but i have been so busy editing, i really couldnt find a spare minute to take another photo, let alone edit one! so many ideas that will just have to wait till next year… i love audreys expression in this photo – even though she is covered in sand – i think its super cute!

We have rain, rain and more rain oh and did I mention rain!
So no big plans for us, however mark and I did make it to the movies last night.

admin - oh thanks girls!

telle – danny was excited… told me off for being so indulgent but i figure i owe him since ive been so consumed with work lately! he is up at mums helping with the garden so we havent played yet but we will this afternoon.

bee – we just had a week or more of so much rain… i actually enjoyed it! i got lots of work done and i didnt feel like i was missing out. danny and i were saying on friday that summer is almost over so we should make an effort to get to the beach and the pool more. im embarrassed to say i havent been to the beach since early january… thats insane when i can see the sand and the ocean as we speak!

so on that note… i better go get some things done because we are hoping to go later today! rowe x

{52 weeks} me

i have so many jobs to edit right now so the blog has been a little neglected but i promise ill have some great stuff to share soon!

my 52 week project has taken a back seat too… im 2 weeks behind! thanks goodness i didnt do the 365 day project which i seriously considered for some insane reason… as if i could manage to post a photo a day! its not that i dont take photos often cause i take them all the time but i dont download as often as i should.

anyway, my good friend chantelle at fat mum slim decided to do the project too and then yesterday she suggested we do self portraits (check out her blog here if you dont already read it). at first i thought it was a terrible idea because im not keen on being in photos – in fact i think i may have only been in 3 or 4 all of last year so how would i manage one a week? then i thought that is the point isnt it… to say i was here too… i was part of this family!

so here is my first week. i only took 8 photos cause danny came home and i felt like a bit of a loser taking photos of myself in the mirror with my hair all frizzy… if i knew i was going to do it i would have atleast got out the blow drier but i honestly thought i would hate them and i wouldnt post them at all. i actually like them… i love that the mirror was a little dirty so the camera had trouble focusing (woops!). i held the camera above my head and i love that the camera focused on the frame and i accidentally took photos of my legs (needless to say, i didnt post that photo for all to see) and my waist – the mistake photos are my most favourite ones!

i dont want the 52 week project to be one of those things i dont do properly so i promise i will get it together in a week or two when things arent so hectic and post the 2 weeks ive missed! i cant say i will post photos of myself every week but i will post whatever i shoot that week. does anyone else want to play along?

Margo Plowright - wow I love these shots, so natural, so you, rowe….beautiful. yes you are darn right, you are NEVER in photos. rowe dont make that mistake, i did it all my life and now i didnt exist for the past 20 years really. whats even funnier, i ended up with a “camera click phobia”. if anyone comes with in 10 feet of me with a camera i do the crazy eyes. lol, yes i close my eyes, or close one eye and look half drunk…not a good look..i am going to work on that.. love mum xx

{home sweet home}

ok… i know im meant to be editing and i am… truly – i just needed a break for a few minutes or my head will explode!

i woke up this morning to see lulu belles smiling face. she was waiting patiently to embrace me and smother me in hugs and kisses. it was so heavenly! being away from her for 5 days just felt too long… i dont know why that is cause ive been going to sydney to shoot every month since we moved here 6 months ago and im normally gone for 4 or 5 days, but this time, i just missed audrey terribly… i missed danny and i missed my pillow!

what is strange is its the first time i havent been sad to leave sydney. i normally feel a little sorrow, a little depressed to be leaving my old home to fly to our new home on the gold coast. this is the first time i couldnt wait to get on that plane. im thinking thats a good thing? maybe im just a little more settled here than i think?

well its all really confusing and who knows how i will feel tomorrow, but for now, im really happy to be home with my little family!

of course, i cant do a post without a photo so here is audrey wrapped up in her big girl quilt her nanna made her… she designs doggy clothing for a living and makes all sorts of gorgeous stuff for audrey! this was taken at rainbow bay at sunset… how peaceful!
