for over a year ive been doing a personal project called 10 ON 10 with so many amazing photographers! i love this project so much and im super excited to be continuing in 2014 with a new name and a slightly tweaked concept… the kaleidoscope project!

Kaleidoscope is derived from the Ancient Greek (kalos), “beautiful, beauty” (eidos), “that which is seen: form, shape” and (skopeo), “to look to, to examine.” Hence “observation of beautiful forms.”
We are a group of friends, mummas, visual artists and photographers from around the world who are passionate about capturing images of the real, the messy and the magical – the wonder of the everyday. Like a kaleidoscope, our photographs are playful and experimental, ever-changing and infused with light and colour. They reflect the shared meaning and beauty in our lives.
im sharing photos i planned to blog last month. a long weekend with nyepi and melasti ceremonies, afternoon beach adventures filled with sunshine and audrey luella learning to surf!
the surfing thing is a huge deal! danny has wanted to get audrey out in the ocean, surfing, for the longest time. she loves swimming in the sea but has always been a little anxious about the idea of learning to surf {maybe thats my influence because truth be told, im a little scared of waves!}.
then one day in march, things changed. audrey decided to give it a try and she actually liked it! this project is about documenting our everyday. all the big and small moments i want to remember. these are the kinds of days i want to remember.
the warmth of the sunshine on our skin.
the taste of the salty air.
the way he took her hand and she stayed close because this experience is still so new and she is still a little unsure.
the smiles and high fives when she manages to ride the board with steady legs!
audrey is 10. she is in grade 5 and we are living in bali. this life is sweet and so precious.
