{52 weeks} lacey mae

a photo a week for 52 weeks…

when you move far away, you miss your friends more than anything so you can imagine the excitement when friends plan a trip to visit!  one of my dearest friends came with her family to visit us in january.  chantelle, shane and sweet lacey.  you might know chantelle as fatmumslim.  if you dont, do go check out her blog…  but be warned…  youll be addicted!

they arrived bright and early for a yummy breakfast of bills ricotta hotcakes…  if you havent eaten at bills before, you really must!  of course you will order the hotcakes and please be sure you order the hot chocolate – if you love chocolate as much as i do – you will feel like youve died and gone to heaven…  it really doesnt get better than bills hot chocolate…  if your not in sydney, dont despair cause making them yourself is the next best thing!  chantelle posted the recipe recently here.

the weather was far from perfect but the kids swam a little and didnt mind one bit.  we ate sushi for lunch at a little place just up the street and dreamed of eating sushi all day, everyday…   oh how we all ♥ sushi!

it was a really lovely day and we were sad to say goodbye.  its always sad to say goodbye…

Chantelle {fat mum slim} - I can’t believe I didn’t comment on these. I was so caught up with emailing them to everyone! I love them, and Shane was so in love with them that you probably noticed it promptly went up as his Facebook profile picture.

I don’t know how you do it, but you manage to capture the perfect moments. ♥ ♥ ♥

{apple picking} sydney blue mountains

every year in march we head to the blue mountains to go apple picking and celebrate autumn.

it was something we started audreys first year at preschool.  steiner schools have a festival to celebrate every season and its a tradition we have come to love so much!  the children sing all sorts of beautiful songs, theres a shared picnic with lots of yummy food and of course loads of apples!  the week that follows we bake apple crumble and make home made yoghurt with stewed apples and cinnamon.  i hear audrey singing joyful autumn songs for months afterwards…  here is one of my faves…  the little children doing the actions to this one is oh so sweet!

{shake shake the apple tree, red and rosey apples.  shake shake the apple tree, red and rosey apples.  one for you, one for me, shake shake the apple tree.

blow blow the leaves away, windy windy weather.  blow blow the leaves away, windy windy weather.  blow them here, blow them there, blow blow the leaves away.

now now its harvest time, golden leaves and berries.  now now its harvest time, golden leaves and berries.  stack the corn, in the barn, now now its harvest time}
