Kirsty - Oh my gosh!! The chicken!!! And the photo bomb actually made me laugh out loud – so funny – your life is always a delight to see – thank you for doing this project with me sweetie xxxx

{kaleidoscope project ~ bali edition ~ february 2014}

many of you know that i have been doing the ’10 ON 10 PROJECT’ for over a year now and ive loved being part of a group of inspiring and amazing photographers who have become sweet friends. mostly i have LOVED documenting our everyday lives and sharing the images with all of you!

im a rule breaker from way back so you probably noticed i was never able to stick to just sharing 10 images… in fact i dont think i shared just 10 images even once in the 17 months ive been doing this project! i figure if im going to take the time to shoot photos of my family, i might as well share as many as my heart desires! for this reason and more, when we were talking about continuing our monthly project together in 2014 we talked of doing it a little differently. no rules or constraints… just friends sharing images that make their hearts happy! with much excitement, i introduce THE KALEIDOSCOPE PROJECT!

Kaleidoscope  is derived from the Ancient Greek (kalos), “beautiful, beauty” (eidos), “that which is seen: form, shape” and (skopeo), “to look to, to examine.”  Hence “observation of beautiful forms.

we are a group of friends, mummas, visual artists and photographers from around the world who are passionate about capturing images of the real, the messy and the magical ~ the wonder of the everyday! like a kaleidoscope, our photographs are playful and experimental, ever-changing and infused with light and colour. once a month, we assemble a single mosaic comprised of our collective pictorial tiles, one submitted by each of us, that reflect the shared meaning and beauty in our lives.

so here is my very first post… last month we went to stay at desa atas awan {village above the clouds} with friends for a couple of days. we enjoyed the cooler weather and exploring the mountains. ive shared a few images in a weekly project ive been doing with a friend, ‘in this moment’ but i was really keen to share a few more from this one day! the day was kind of gloomy with no pretty light to be seen but the way audrey took charge leading the group making up facts about places she has never been, making us all giggle and that outfit in the second half of our walk… this is the sort of stuff i want to remember!
